Senior Design Engineer

Role:

You will lead the specification, development, design and manufacture of components and subsystems for new Skytree prototypes and test apparatus; this will range from understanding of requirements of the wider business needs, full specification of systems through to assembly and operation. You will support our laboratory team to improve the robustness of future Skytree demonstrators and transfer our designs through to mass production. You will drive concept development, innovation and optimization of the Skytree technology.

Specific activities:

  • Work with wider Engineering team to develop designs for next generation prototypes and lab testing equipment
  • Work from concept generation and selection through to assembly and commissioning
  • Produce documentation, status reports and operating procedures
  • Develop internal procedures and recommendations for standardisation of equipment and components
  • Communicate with collaboration partners to allow integrated functionality of future demonstrators
  • Drive innovation and development of technology
  • Support the surrounding Skytree team

Your profile:

  • Degree in related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
  • 5+ years’ experience in CAD and the production of engineering drawings for manufacture
  • Experience in design for mass production
  • Experience with sourcing partners and suppliers
  • Able to write clear, concise technical reports
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable, open-minded team player and self-starter
  • Enjoy being part of a diverse, multi-cultural team
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in written
  • Bonus:
    • Familiar with control system design and electronics

Senior Project Engineer

Role:

You will work with the business development team to translate company direction into technical roadmaps. You will work with the technical team to define, develop and agree specifications for new Skytree prototypes and test apparatus; this will range from understanding of requirements of the wider business needs, full specification of systems through to assembly and operation.

Specific activities:

  • Develop internal procedures and recommendations for standardisation of equipment and components
  • Communicate with collaboration partners to allow integrated functionality of future demonstrators
  • Assign design & engineering tasks to the technical team
  • Drive innovation and development of technology
  • Support workshop activities
  • Support the surrounding Skytree team

Your profile:

  • Degree in related field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
  • 5+ years’ experience in project and/or design engineering
  • Ability to work independently and manage others
  • Experience in sourcing partners and suppliers
  • Experience in writing project proposals and/or scopes of work
  • Reliable, open-minded team player and self-starter
  • Enjoy being part of a diverse, multi-cultural team
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in written
  • You have a working permit for the Netherlands
  • Bonus:
    • Experience in concept development and component design
    • Familiar with control system design and electronics

Electronics Engineer

Role:

You will lead the design of the integrated electronics / control system on a new technology demonstrator, from understanding of requirements and full specification of system through to implementation and operation. You will also support and supply recommendations to our laboratory team to improve the robustness of data acquisition systems.

Specific activities:

  • Work with wider Engineering team to develop control system requirements for next generation technology demonstrator
  • Develop and deliver control system in line with agreed specifications, both internal and with partners
  • Produce documentation, status reports and operating procedures
  • Develop internal procedures and recommendations for standardisation of equipment and components
  • Communicate with collaboration partners to allow integrated functionality of future demonstrators
  • Provide Data Acquisition Recommendations for in-house laboratory testing

Your profile:

  • Degree in related field
  • Experience in designing and specifying control systems from initial concepts through to installation and operation
  • Experience and understanding of mechanical component design (bonus)
  • Able to write clear, concise technical reports
  • Ability to work independently
  • You are interested in Cleantech
  • Reliable, open-minded team player and self-starter
  • Enjoy being part of a diverse, multi-cultural team
  • Able to set and manage priorities regarding multiple, simultaneously running projects
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in written (Dutch not a must)
  • You have a working permit for the Netherlands
